Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burger Patties

While the mushrooms are cooking, shape the ground beef into two burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking the burgers, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the skillet or grill to help the cheese melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place the cooked burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on top, then add the sautéed mushrooms. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the mushroom Swiss burgers warm with your choice of side dishes.
