Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the 14 oz sirloin steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for more even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Heat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat. You want the grill to be very hot to get a good sear on the steak.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Gorgonzola Butter Preparation

  1. 6

    Soften the Butter

In a small bowl, soften the stick of unsalted butter at room temperature until it is spreadable.

  2. 7

    Mix Ingredients

Add the crumbled gorgonzola cheese, finely chopped fresh parsley, minced garlic clove, and lemon juice to the softened butter.

  3. 8

    Combine and Form Butter

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. You should have a creamy mixture. If desired, you can also use a fork to mash the gorgonzola into the butter for a smoother consistency.

  4. 9

    Chill the Butter

Transfer the Gorgonzola butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
