Toasted Italian Bread
Method
Lasagna Preparation
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
- 2
Add Sauce and Seasoning
Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper into the cooked beef. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 3
Prepare Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Boil Lasagna Noodles
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- 5
Assemble the Lasagna
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then add a layer of meat sauce, followed by a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles, meat sauce, and remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- 6
Add Parmesan and Bake
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top of the lasagna. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
