Preparation

- 2
Slice the Bread
Cut the Italian bread into thick slices, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick. You should have approximately 6-8 slices.
- 3
Prepare the Garlic Oil
Mince the fresh garlic cloves and combine them with the olive oil in a small bowl. Mix well to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembly
- 4
Brush the Bread
Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet. Brush each slice generously with the garlic olive oil mixture on both sides.
- 5
Bake the Bread
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the bread for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Add Toppings
Remove the bread from the oven. Top each slice with roasted red bell peppers, a slice of prosciutto, and slices of fresh mozzarella.
- 7
Final Bake
Return the topped bread to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve warm.
