Apple Cobbler Skillet Ingredients

Method

Directions for Apple Cobbler Skillet

  1. 1

    Prepare the Apples

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Toss well to coat the apples evenly and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, and remaining cinnamon. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Skillet

Pour the batter into a greased cast-iron skillet or oven-safe pan. Spoon the apple mixture over the batter, making sure to distribute the apples evenly across the top.

  4. 4

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream on top.
