Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey from its packaging and remove any giblets from the cavity.
- 2
Seasoning
Pat the turkey dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey and season generously with salt and black pepper. Stuff the cavity with garlic cloves, onion, lemon, and fresh herbs.
- 3
Roasting
Place the turkey breast side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). This usually takes about 13-15 minutes per pound.
- 4
Resting
Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 5
Serving
Carve the turkey and serve with your favorite sides.
