Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a chilled cocktail glass. Dip the rim into a plate of salt to coat it, and set the glass aside.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, 1 oz of orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

  3. 3

    Shake it Up

Fill the shaker with ice cubes (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice, or serve it straight up without ice, depending on preference.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
