Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, pressing them down slightly in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Toasting the Buns

  1. 5

    Butter and Toast

While the burger patties are cooking, spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns. Place them cut-side down in a separate skillet over medium heat until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, sliced tomato, onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
