Method
Falafel Preparation
- 1
Soak the Chickpeas
Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl and cover them with water. Soak for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- 2
- 3
Form the Falafel Balls
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour. Use your hands to form small balls or patties, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Falafel
Carefully drop the falafel balls into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the falafel from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with tahini sauce, pita bread, and fresh vegetables.
