Filling

Method

Filling Preparation

1

Cook the Lamb

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened. Add ground lamb, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.

2

Add Vegetables

Stir in diced carrots and peas, cooking for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.

3

Simmer the Filling

Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Cheddar Bacon Mash Preparation

4

Boil Potatoes

In a large pot, boil cubed potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

5

Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.

6

Add Cheese and Bacon

Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon until well combined.

Assembly and Baking

7

Assemble the Shepherd's Pie

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a baking dish, spread the lamb filling evenly, then top with the cheddar bacon mash, smoothing it out.

8

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling.

9

Serve

Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Shepherd's Pie!
