Prepare Mushroom Mixture

Sauté Mushrooms

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the mixed mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and tender.

Add Cream and Parmesan

Pour in the heavy cream, and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

Toast the Bread

Prepare Sourdough

In another skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the slices of sourdough bread and toast until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Assemble the Toast

Top the Toast

Place the toasted sourdough slices on a serving platter. Spoon the creamy mushroom mixture generously over each slice. Garnish with chopped chives.
