Brisket Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef brisket. Make sure to cover all sides. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Smoker

Soak the wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  4. 4

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker. Add the soaked wood chips to the smoker box or directly onto the coals. Smoke for about 1 hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  5. 5

    Moisten the Brisket

Every hour, spritz the brisket with a mixture of Worcestershire sauce and beef broth to keep it moist.

  6. 6

    Rest the Brisket

Once smoked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
