Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Vegetables

Rinse the mixed greens under cold water and dry them using a salad spinner or by patting them dry with a paper towel. Chop the cucumber, bell pepper, tomato, and onion into bite-sized pieces. Slice the black olives if they are whole.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Salad Base

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens, chopped cucumber, bell pepper, tomato, onion, and black olives. Toss gently to mix the ingredients evenly.

Cook the Ground Beef

  1. 3

    Brown the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Seasoning

Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then add the taco seasoning and water. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the mixture to thicken.

Assemble the Taco Salad

  1. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture over the salad base in the bowl. Top with shredded cheese, dollops of sour cream, and salsa.

  2. 6

    Serve

Toss the salad gently to combine the toppings with the base if desired, or serve as is. Enjoy your taco salad immediately!
