Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and chopped pecans until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.

  5. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Transfer the pancakes to a plate and keep warm while you cook the remaining batter.

Whipped Butter Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Whipped Butter

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with a hand mixer or stand mixer until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to beat until fluffy.

Syrup Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Syrup

Warm the maple syrup slightly in a small saucepan or microwave, then drizzle over the pancakes when serving.
