Method

Preparing the Batter

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a bit of butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Pour the Batter

For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet.

  3. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges appear set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Continue this process with the remaining batter, greasing the skillet as necessary.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Stack the pancakes on a plate, add a dollop of whipped butter on top, and drizzle with warm maple syrup before serving.
