Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the green bell pepper and onion, and slice the mushrooms. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Beat the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack the 4 large eggs and add salt and black pepper. Whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Vegetables

In a non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced ham, green bell pepper, onion, and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the ham is slightly browned.

  2. 4

    Add the Eggs

Pour the beaten eggs over the sautéed vegetables in the skillet. Allow the eggs to cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes or until the edges start to set.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese and Finish Cooking

Sprinkle the shredded American cheese over one half of the omelet. Once the eggs are mostly set, use a spatula to fold the other half over the cheese. Let it cook for an additional 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the omelet is cooked through.

  4. 6

    Serve

Slide the omelet onto a plate and cut in half if desired. Serve hot.
