Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined and the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool while you prepare the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix cream cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add sugar and sour cream

Gradually add in the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined. Add sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 5

    Add eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined after each addition. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 6

    Incorporate flour

Finally, sift in the all-purpose flour and fold it into the batter gently until there are no visible flour streaks.

  5. 7

    Pour into crust

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan, smoothing it out evenly.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 8

    Bake the cheesecake

Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggles when gently shaken.

  2. 9

    Cooling

Turn off the oven and crack the door open, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour. This helps prevent cracking.

  3. 10

    Refrigerate

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.

Topping (optional)

  1. 11

    Prepare the topping

If desired, top the chilled cheesecake with sliced fresh strawberries and drizzle with strawberry glaze before serving.
