Marinade

Rice Pilaf

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, paprika, and cumin. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Add the cubed beef sirloin to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Skewering and Broiling

  1. 3

    Prepare Vegetables

While the beef is marinating, cut the green bell pepper, onion, and tomato into chunks and set aside.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Skewers

Preheat your broiler. Thread the marinated beef onto skewers, alternating with pieces of green pepper, onion, and tomato.

  3. 5

    Broil the Skewers

Place the skewers on a broiler pan. Broil for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.

Rice Pilaf Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

  2. 7

    Combine Rice and Broth

Stir in the rice and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the chicken broth and salt, bring to a boil.

  3. 8

    Simmer the Rice

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the broiled shish-ka-bob skewers over a bed of rice pilaf. Enjoy your delicious meal!
