Method

Preparing the Fried Mushrooms

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Start by cleaning the fresh mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Trim the stems if necessary. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour seasoned with salt and black pepper, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and the last one with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Mushrooms

Dip each mushroom in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the mushroom in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

  5. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully add the breaded mushrooms in batches to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Making the Garlic Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice together until smooth. Season with salt to taste.

  3. 8

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the garlic sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
