Prepare the Fries
Peel and cut the potatoes into fries. Rinse in cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Seasoning the Fries
In a large bowl, toss the fries with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Heat the Oil
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the seasoned fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Batter
In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Slowly whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth.

Dip each cod fillet into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Carefully place the battered cod fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
