Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Remove the rib-eye steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Searing the Steak

Preheat a cast-iron skillet or grill over high heat until it’s very hot. Place the steak in the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.

  4. 4

    Flipping

Flip the steak using tongs and add garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Basting

Add butter to the skillet. As it melts, use a spoon to baste the melted butter over the steak for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Resting

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serving

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your choice of sides.
