Bread Pudding Directions
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old French bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes. If using, add the raisins. Gently stir to combine, ensuring all bread is soaked.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.
- 5
Cool and Serve
Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whiskey sauce drizzled on top.
