Tuna Steak

Balsamic Reduction

Method

Preparing the Balsamic Reduction

  1. 1

    Make the Balsamic Reduction

In a saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer until reduced by half and thickened, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

Cooking the Creole Fried Rice

  1. 2

    Prepare the Fried Rice

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic, and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked rice, soy sauce, and Creole seasoning. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Add green onions and stir to combine. Remove from heat.

Cooking the Tuna Steak

  1. 3

    Cook the Tuna

Rub the tuna steaks with olive oil, Creole seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the tuna for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time according to preference.

Plating

  1. 4

    Serve

On a plate, serve a scoop of Creole fried rice, top with a blackened tuna steak, and drizzle with balsamic reduction.
