Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Meat Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 5

    Brown Ground Beef

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the meat is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the meat sauce in the skillet. Toss everything together until the spaghetti is well-coated with the sauce.

  2. 8

    Serve

Transfer the pasta to serving plates, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Salad Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.

  2. 10

    Make Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 11

    Toss Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss well to coat all the ingredients.

  4. 12

    Serve Salad

Serve the salad alongside the spaghetti for a complete meal.
