Tartare

Method

Preparation of Tartare

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Dice the fresh Ahi tuna into small cubes. Place in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the bowl with the tuna. Dice it into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

Add soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, and salt to the bowl. Mix gently to combine the ingredients without mashing the tuna and avocado.

  4. 4

Add Green Onions and Sesame Seeds

Chop the green onions finely and sprinkle them along with sesame seeds into the mixture. Stir lightly to incorporate.

Preparation of Wontons

  1. 5

    Prepare the Wontons

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Fry the Wontons

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the wonton wrappers in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Place the crispy wontons on a serving platter. Top each wonton with a generous scoop of the spicy tuna tartare mixture. Optionally, garnish with additional sesame seeds and green onions.
