Method

Biscuit Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Biscuit Dough

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Incorporate Butter

Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. 3

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

  4. 4

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Cut into round biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.

  5. 5

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy Directions

  1. 6

    Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 7

    Make the Roux

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.

  3. 8

    Add Milk

Gradually pour in the milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 9

    Season the Gravy

Add black pepper and salt to taste. Continue to cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Home Fries Directions

  1. 10

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes.

  2. 11

    Cook the Potatoes

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until they start to soften.

  3. 12

    Add Onion and Season

Add the chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
