Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, hickory smoke seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, then form into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Grill the Onions

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook over medium heat until caramelized and golden brown, about 10 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Burger Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly if desired. On the bottom bun, layer the lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, grilled onions, two slices of bacon, a slice of tomato, and a generous drizzle of BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
