Method

Preparing the Scramble

  1. 1

    Cook the Meats

In a skillet over medium heat, add diced ham, bacon, or sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Home Fries

In the same skillet, add home fries. Cook until golden brown and crispy, stirring occasionally, about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Scramble the Eggs

In a bowl, whisk the eggs with salt and pepper. In the skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then pour in the egg mixture. Gently stir the eggs until they begin to set.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

When the eggs are almost set, add the cooked meats and home fries to the eggs. Stir gently to combine and let cook for another minute until fully set.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the cheddar jack cheese over the top of the scramble and cover the skillet for a minute to melt the cheese.

Preparing the Toast

  1. 6

    Toast the Bread

While the scramble is finishing, toast the slices of bread until golden brown. Spread butter on each slice once toasted.
