Method
Burger Patties
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
- 3
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
- 4
Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 5
Add Toppings
On the bottom half of each bun, place lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, and condiments of ketchup and mustard.
- 6
Complete the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun and secure with a skewer if desired.
Fries
- 7
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips or wedges, depending on your preference.
- 8
Season the Fries
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil and salt until evenly coated.
- 9
Bake the Fries
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the fries out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
