Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Scallops

Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop Ingredients

Finely chop the garlic, shallots, and parsley. If using, chop the cooked bacon and crab meat as well.

Making the Stuffing

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté Aromatics

Add the chopped garlic and shallots to the skillet and sauté until they are translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the sautéed mixture, breadcrumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. If using, add the cooked bacon and crab meat. Mix until well combined.

Stuffing the Scallops

  1. 7

    Fill Scallops

Take a heaping tablespoon of the stuffing and place it on top of each scallop. Press down gently to secure the stuffing.

Baking

  1. 8

    Arrange Scallops

Place the stuffed scallops on a baking sheet. You can line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

  2. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the scallops are cooked through and the topping is golden brown.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve the baked stuffed scallops warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
