Pizza Ingredients

Method

Pizza Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the tomato sauce with minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Pizza

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce mixture evenly over the base.

  5. 5

    Add Toppings and Bake

Tear fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them on top of the sauce. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
