Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine.

  3. 3

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).

  4. 4

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Cool the Cakes

Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and cool completely on wire racks.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve slices of the chocolate cake warm or at room temperature, paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
