Calzone Ingredients

Method

Calzone Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, garlic confit, pepperoni slices, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

    Fill the Calzone

Place half of the filling on one half of the dough circle, leaving a border around the edge. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Brush the top of the calzone with olive oil and make a few small slits on top to allow steam to escape.

  6. 6

    Bake the Calzone

Carefully transfer the calzone to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
