Waffle Batter

Method

Preparing the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cooking the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions until it's ready for batter.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Once the waffle iron is hot, lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the waffle iron (enough to cover the surface) and close the lid.

  3. 6

    Cook Time

Cook the waffles for about 5 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve the waffles warm with maple syrup drizzled on top and a side of fresh fruit. Enjoy!
