Bread and Egg Mixture

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Berries

Rinse the fresh berries under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

  2. 4

    Dip the Bread

Take a slice of the thick bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated well. Allow any excess mixture to drip off.

  3. 5

    Cook the French Toast

Place the coated bread slice onto the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes until browned.

  4. 6

    Repeat

Repeat the dipping and cooking process with the remaining slices of bread, greasing the skillet as needed.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the French Toast

Once all the French toast slices are cooked, arrange them on plates.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Dust the French toast with powdered sugar, add a handful of fresh berries on top, and drizzle with maple syrup.

  3. 9

    Serve Warm

Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your homemade French toast!
