Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Ribeye

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels to remove moisture. Rub both sides of the steaks generously with salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  2. 3

    Sear the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks in the hot skillet. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them. This will create a beautiful crust.

  3. 4

    Flip and Add Flavor

Flip the steaks over and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer to reach your desired doneness. If using, add the garlic, rosemary, and butter to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks for added flavor.

  4. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ribeye steaks against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your juicy ribeye steak!
