Preparation of Protein

Cook the Protein
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or shredded chicken until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if using beef.
Assembling Nachos

Layer the Chips
Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter.

Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the tortilla chips.

Add Protein
Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef or shredded chicken over the cheese layer.

Top with Jalapeños
Scatter jalapeños on top of the nachos to your preference.
Baking

Melt the Cheese
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled nachos in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving

Serve the Nachos
Remove the nachos from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side.
