Ingredients for Tiramisu
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If desired, add coffee liqueur to the cooled coffee.
- 2
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
- 3
Mix Mascarpone
In another bowl, add the mascarpone cheese. Mix it gently with a spatula until smooth.
- 4
Combine Cream and Mascarpone
Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently until fully incorporated, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
- 5
Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture (do not soak), then layer half of them in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 6
Add Another Layer
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, finishing with a layer of mascarpone on top.
- 7
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 8
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings. Serve chilled.
