Calamari Preparation

Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, making sure they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).

Fry the Calamari
Fry the calamari rings in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Spicy Aioli Preparation

Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lemon juice, and minced garlic until smooth.

Adjust Seasoning
Taste the aioli and adjust the spiciness by adding more sriracha if desired.
Marinara Sauce Preparation

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Finish the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Stir in chopped fresh basil just before serving.
