Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the breaded calamari rings in small batches to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Making the Spicy Marinara Sauce

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, dried oregano, and salt. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
