Prepare the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush one side of each slice with extra virgin olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Prepare the Tomato Mixture
While the bread is toasting, chop the tomatoes into small cubes. Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, basil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and mix well.

Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato mixture onto each slice.
