Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and let them sit for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

  2. 2

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.

  3. 3

    Add BBQ Sauce

About 30 minutes before serving, brush BBQ sauce over the ribs and cover again. Allow the sauce to heat and caramelize slightly.

Making the Coleslaw

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded green cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 6

    Mix It All Together

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until everything is well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
