Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Rinse the pork ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mix all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Cooking Ribs

  1. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil. Cover the tray with another piece of foil to trap moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Final Cooking

  1. 5

    Glaze and Finish

After the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and increase the temperature to 220°C (425°F). Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce on both sides of the ribs and return them to the oven. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce is caramelized.

  2. 6

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions. Serve with remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
