Coxinhas Filling
Method
Coxinhas Preparation
- 1
- 2
Make the Dough
In a pot, bring 2 cups of chicken broth to a boil. Add 2 cups of flour gradually, stirring continuously until a dough forms. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pot. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Shape the Coxinhas
Once the dough is cool enough to handle, take a small piece and flatten it in your palm. Place a tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center and fold the dough over to form a teardrop shape. Pinch the edges to seal well.
- 4
Fry the Coxinhas
In a deep pan, heat oil over medium heat. Carefully drop the shaped coxinhas into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Serve
Serve the coxinhas warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
