Dumpling Filling

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine the shrimp, ground pork, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Dumplings

Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat the wrapper around the filling, leaving the top exposed. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  3. 3

    Steam the Dumplings

Prepare a steamer pot with boiling water. Place the shumai in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other. Steam for about 10-12 minutes or until the filling is cooked through.

  4. 4

    Serve

Remove the shumai from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
