Biscuits
Method
Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Cut in Butter
Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Buttermilk
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a floured biscuit cutter.
Bake
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, close together. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Prepare Honey Butter
While the biscuits are baking, mix together 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1/4 cup of honey until smooth.
