Prepare the Cucumbers
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly under cold running water. Slice them into spears or rounds, depending on your preference. You should have about 4 cups of sliced cucumbers.

Prepare the Garlic and Dill
Peel the garlic cloves and set them aside. Rinse the dill sprigs and shake off any excess water.
Make the Pickling Brine
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, 1 cup of white vinegar, 2 tablespoons of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- 4
Add Spices
Once boiling, add 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns, 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the brine. Stir to dissolve the salt and sugar completely.
- 5
Simmer
Reduce the heat and let the brine simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
Pickling Process
- 6
Pack the Jars
In clean glass jars, layer the cucumber slices, garlic cloves, and dill sprigs. Pack them in tightly but without crushing the cucumbers.
- 7
Add the Brine
Once the brine has cooled, pour it over the packed cucumbers, ensuring they are fully submerged. Leave about half an inch of space at the top of the jar.
- 8
Seal and Refrigerate
Seal the jars with lids and refrigerate. Allow the pickles to marinate for at least 24 hours before consuming for the best flavor.
