Prepare the Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Add the browned meatballs back to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Let simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
