Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Apples
Wash the apples under running water to remove any dirt or residues. Peel the apples and remove the cores, then cut them into quarters.
- 2
Cook the Apples
In a large saucepan, add the quartered apples and pour in the cup of water. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft and tender.
Blending & Seasoning
- 3
Blend the Mixture
Once the apples are soft, remove the saucepan from heat. Using a blender or an immersion blender, puree the cooked apples until you reach your desired consistency (smooth or chunky).
- 4
Add Sugar and Spices
Add the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the apple puree. Stir well to combine and taste. Adjust sweetness or spice levels according to your preference.
Cooling & Storage
- 5
Cool the Applesauce
Let the applesauce cool to room temperature before transferring it to storage containers.
- 6
Store the Applesauce
Store the applesauce in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
