Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparing the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Drying the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Frying the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Draining and Seasoning

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

  7. 7

    Serving

Transfer the fries to a serving basket and enjoy hot.
